Media Planner & Account Manager | CPT

As a Media Planner & AccountManager, your primary responsibility is the day-to-day Management and Planning of a fast paced account. You will work on several different projects simultaneously and must be adept at managing and building client relationships and reporting on the status of projects. You will work closely with the Business Unit Head and other Planners and Buyers in co-ordinating projects.

Skills Required:

A Media Planner & AccountManager must possess the following skills in order to succeed:

  • The candidate must be a natural leader with fantastic people skills, both within the agency environment and when dealing with clients
  • You will need to not only communicate effectively with clients but ensure that you display impeccable presentation skills
  • You are expected to have a solid understanding of the media landscape as well as performance marketing and how people consume media
  • Understanding digital media will be a major benefit to you.
  • You will need to have exceptional negotiation skills and great media owner relationships in order to secure the best rates for your clients
  • You take ownership of media plans and implementation.  Your media plans are considered & accurate and you commit to adhere to the deadlines made to our clients
  • You will need to be financially savvy and on top of clients financials and budget tracking
  • You will need keen attention to detail, to be super diligent with numbers and a master of excel spreadsheets. We expect you to quality control your own media plans and client budgets; accurately calculate commissions and discounts;  be meticulous in tracking media budgets and commitment deals; spot mistakes and track PO spend
  • You’ll need to work closely with your buying team and finance department
  • You will undertake the development, delivery and presentation of PCA’s, competitor reviews and other reports required by your client
  • You will need to be able to handle several projects simultaneously and be attentive to the detail with every task that you are required to work on
  • You are expected to be organised & process driven, this includes managing time, calendars, internal workflow etc and to work harmoniously with other partners eg: Buying team, creative agencies etc.
  • In this role you will be expected to see through a project from inception right down to post campaign therefore project management skills are mandatory in the role

Experience &Qualifications Required:

  • Matric certificate with college or university exemption
  • Must have at least 3 years' advertising background with TTL (ATL, & Digital) experience and an understanding of the key departments, processes and structures within a MediaAgency
  • Maths literate:  you must be financially savvy and haveexcellent skills in Excel and Power Point and financial process
  • Media industry tools expert:  You must have recent experience using Telmar, Transit and Wizz Ad
  • Good understanding of the SA research landscape and the various studies to profile media consumption – eg E.S,Fusion, etc.
  • Experience in working with ProjectManagement tools such as Chase/Monday.com is beneficial
